Provision Networks Enables ERP Roll-Out to 25 Global Locations at Ludowici

Solution Overcomes Distributed Infrastructure and WAN Limitations, Giving Ludowici a Better ROI

December 13, 2006 – Reston, VA -- Provision Networks, a global provider of application delivery and dynamic desktop deployment solutions for the VMware Virtual Infrastructure and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows Terminal Server platform, today announced that Ludowici Ltd. has deployed the Provision Management Framework® for global application access to the company’s ERP systems.

The Provision Management Framework (PMF), Enterprise Edition is a full-featured application delivery and access infrastructure solution that leverages the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 platform, and delivers anywhere, anytime, anyhow access to applications and network resources. Enterprise features such as Seamless Windows, Application Publishing, Load Balancing, Access Control, a Web Portal and an SSL Gateway embrace the RDP protocol and enhance the deployment, manageability, performance, and security of Terminal Services environments of all sizes.

Ludowici Limited is a diversified industrial company. The company was established in Australia in 1858, became a public company in 1891 and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange Ltd (ASX) in 1914. Today, Ludowici has 25 facilities in China, India, South Africa, South America, Hong Kong, USA, New Zealand, and Australia.

"Our challenge was to provide our geographically dispersed company with access to a central ERP system," said Andrew Dorney, System Administrator with Ludowici Ltd. "Access from our ERP front-end to the database was not feasible over WAN links," continued Mr. Dorney.

Ludowici had been using the Citrix MetaFrame solution for some of its access needs. When the time came to expand the remote application delivery to all 25 locations, Ludowici knew that a server-based computing solution was the right platform however the company looked for a solution that gave it more flexibility and a better return on investment (ROI).

Besides running a pilot with Provision Networks, Ludowici ran proofs of concept with two other solutions, and considered expanding its existing Citrix implementation. The total cost of ownership (TCO) benefits of the Provision Management Framework were better aligned with the needs of Ludowici, a mid-sized company.

"Provision Networks provided us with superior functionality, improved management, increased flexibility, and a better user experience than any of the solutions considered," added Mr. Dorney.

Provision Networks helped Ludowici rapidly deploy its ERP system to its 25 global facilities, avoid having to add more bandwidth at those locations, and maintain a centrally managed and secured platform safeguarding the manufacturer’s proprietary data.
